Site Construction Division Hunt Valley Contractors | Central & Western Maryland | Full-Time | Non-Exempt Pay: $71,000–$76,000 | Average Annual Pay with Overtime: $100,000+ Reports to: Superintendent


We install and build commercial playgrounds, shelters, shade structures, and site amenities for schools, parks, and municipalities across Maryland, DC, Virginia, and West Virginia. We're hiring a Site Work Foreman who knows how to run precision excavation, shoot grade, and lead a crew through a technically demanding jobsite from start to finish.


This is not an entry-level crew position. You need five years of site work or construction experience, advanced excavation skills, and the ability to operate a mini excavator and skid steer at a high level. Compensation

Pay Range: $71,000–$76,000 annually Average Annual Pay with Overtime: $100,000+ Pay Type: Salaried, full-time, non-exempt Schedule: Year-round work. Overtime available and consistent.


What You'll Do

  • Supervise and lead installation crews on active jobsites — excavation, grading, layout, and site amenity installation
  • Perform and oversee precision excavation for playground equipment, shelters, shade structures, and site amenities including subgrade preparation, equipment footprint excavation, and surfacing preparation
  • Perform rough grade, fine grade, and final grade work for playground equipment areas, safety surfacing systems, and related site improvements
  • Perform layout and shoot grade accurately to ensure work is completed to plan, elevation, and project requirements
  • Verify elevations for equipment, foundations, and installation components to ensure proper alignment
  • Coordinate layout, excavation, and installation for footings and anchoring systems for shelters, shade structures, and site amenities
  • Operate mini excavator and skid steer safely and efficiently for excavation, grading, and general site preparation
  • Read and follow blueprints, plans, material lists, and project guidelines
  • Work around existing structures, utilities, and tight site conditions without causing damage
  • Drive company truck and pull trailer to transport equipment, tools, and materials to and from job sites
  • Communicate jobsite issues, scheduling impacts, and crew concerns to the Superintendent or Project Manager
  • Enforce all company safety policies and procedures on every site, every day
  • Review and verify employee timesheets and submit on specified days
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time


What You Bring

  • Minimum five years of site work or construction experience — required
  • Advanced-level expertise in precision excavation — subgrade prep, equipment footprint excavation, surfacing preparation — required
  • Demonstrated ability to excavate to exact elevations and tolerances for playground equipment and safety surfacing systems
  • Highly skilled in performing layout, shooting grade, fine grading, and final grading
  • Experienced and proficient operating a mini excavator and skid steer
  • Ability to drive a truck and pull a trailer
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Card — required
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record — required
  • Ability to read blueprints and plans
  • Physical ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs
  • Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays
  • High school diploma or GED

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive local routes within Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia, ensuring safe and timely deliveries.
  • Load and transport excavation equipment, such as excavators, skid loaders, and wheel loaders.
  • Operate forklifts to efficiently load and unload materials and equipment.
  • Safely secure all loads on trucks, flatbeds, and trailers for transit.
  • Handle physical tasks, including loading and unloading heavy materials and equipment.
  • Complete minor repairs on vehicles and equipment when necessary.
  • Assist in setting up trade shows by transporting and arranging equipment and materials.
  • Accurately process and complete required delivery paperwork.


Requirements:

  • Valid CDL Class A license with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating skid steer loaders, mini excavators, and forklifts.
  • Physical ability to lift and load heavy materials and equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure secure and safe transport.
  • Basic repair skills for vehicles and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Commitment to following all safety protocols and company policies.
